Gabriele Oettingen promovierte in Biologie und habilitierte in Psychologie. Sie ist Professorin an der New York University in New York und hat seit 2022 außerdem eine Seniorprofessur für Pädagogische Psychologie und Motivation an der Zeppelin Universität in Friedrichshafen inne. Sie forscht zu Zukunftsdenken und Selbstregulation.
